This is an exchange of emails/letters between Jenny Abramsky, Controller of Network Radio, and myself. You can send emails to her at mailto:jenny.abramsky@bbc.co.uk . Feel free to send me the text of your email (and any reply) and I'll post them here.
As you can see from the final two exchanges, Jenny Abramsky is now refusing to speak to us at all. While I'm not very happy about this, it does at least cut through all the "It's your BBC, answerable to you..." rubbish and state the BBC's position clearly: they refuse to answer our questions, they refuse to address the points we make, and finally they refuse to talk to us at all.
Some of us (myself included) were naive enough to believe that the BBC was still a public-service broadcaster and that the common-sense position of not driving away people who actually want to be listeners would eventually get through to them. If they won't even engage us in dialogue, however, then making progress is going to be extremely difficult.
